House Passes Crowdfunding Bill

This week, the House of Representatives passed several measures designed to aid small companies in raising capital. These measures include the Entrepreneur Access to Capital Act, which would create an SEC exemption for crowdfunding.  Under the proposed law, small companies could offer equity stakes in exchange for investments up to 1 million a year, indexed for inflation, or $2 million if the company provides certain financial information.

Additionally, the House has passed the Access to Capital for Job Creators Act, which would allow start-ups to solicit capital from accredited investors.

Jason D’Cruz Elected Fellow in The College of Labor and Employment Lawyers

Atlanta, GA (November 1, 2011) – The College of Labor and Employment Lawyers elected Morris, Manning & Martin, LLP partner Jason D’Cruz a Fellow of the College. The annual installation of Fellows will take place in Seattle on November 5 during the ABA’s Labor and Employment Law Section’s CLE Conference. Mr. D’Cruz practices in the areas of employment law, executive compensation and restrictive covenant litigation. He also advises companies on multi-state employment issues.

Tycho founded Harbinger Computer Services in 1983 and led the company as both Chairman and CEO, eventually taking it public in 1995. In 2001, he founded the successful technology solutions firm, nuBridges, which recently merged with Liaison Technologies.
